Bio
Dr. Sayles earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine in 1989 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Northwestern University in 1985. He completed his internship and residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, in 1997 and completed fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, in 2001. Dr. Sayles is skilled and experienced in the latest surgical technology, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures. He is a specialist in colon, rectal, and anal problems. Dr. Sayles and the highly trained team of professionals at Sentara Surgery Specialists focus on their patients’ complete health, including diagnostic testing, counseling on disease processes, and methods of treatment and required surgery. He is an assistant professor of clinical surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
