Bio
Dr. Raffaele Marchigiani joined the Sentara Surgery Specialists in 2016. He became interested in medicine at a very young age and has spent much of his studies focused on anatomy, specifically surgical anatomy of the heart and lungs. Dr. Marchigiani specializes in thoracic oncology (also known as lung cancer). Many of his lung cancer patients are smokers and a common conversation he has with his patients is the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle.
Dr. Marchigiani follows his own advice; when he’s not in the operating room he enjoys being outdoors and training for triathlons with his wife and encouraging his daughters to stay active as well.
