Bio
Dr. Marybeth Hughes graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) and completed surgical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School graduate school of medicine. Following surgical training, she did a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). At the completion of training, she served as Surgical Oncologist at the NCI, NIH for 12 years. She returned to Norfolk, VA, to serve as the Chief of Surgical Oncology at EVMS in 2016. She is currently part of several leadership teams for EVMS and Sentara in Cancer research and care.
Dr. Hughes has been involved in several collaborative projects with many researchers, including students, residents, post-doctoral fellows, Ph.D. researchers, and physicians.
